Selma has a truly international background having lived in Turkey, Japan, Syria and UK, while speaking fluently Turkish and Japanese. She trained as an architect in the UK (Sheffield University) and is licensed both in the UK and Turkey. Over the past 25 years, Selma has worked on projects ranging in scale from private homes to opera houses as well as teaching at university level. Her multi-cultural background combined with her vast level of experience has shaped her professional vision, which is all-encompassing, long-range and collaborative. Never one to shy away from challenges, Selma steers her household, involvement with the professional community, various interests and career while still trying to make music with her cello.
